It started yesterday, on the actual holiday. The Valentine’s Day displays were being quickly dismantled as early as 9:00 a.m. while shoppers were wandering into stores. Gone were the hearts. Cupids were being taken down, bows and arrows neatly stacked. Today was almost barbaric with shoppers muscling past one another; arms filled with discounted wrapping paper, cookie cutters and of course candy. Only the flowers, resplendent at full price stood their ground against the carnage. Get ready for spring, with a quick shot of St. Patrick’s Day.
